Literature Text

a black rose stands in a vase in the hall
petals like satin, and soft,
the colours ran out, crimson, I recall,
as red as your dreams, held aloft.

but beauty it is, and beauty persists
even though we wish it would fade.
fears disappear, but the passion persists,
if we linger to the last serenade.

Damn, I wish I had a tenth of your talent for amazing closing lines!

Beautiful images of re-treasured nostalgia - it's the satin and soft that really cinched it for me. Wonderful.
