measure my heart, my will
against all the faery tale romances
sold to you for ten dollars a ticket
and a bag of chocolate candies.

I am not Prince Charming,
by some measures I am less.
by others, far greater, and I possess
the virtue of being solid to the touch.

if my words seem too eloquent,
that is the nature of my station.
but each word is true and earnest,
meant to make you smile and dream.

I bring you legend and magic.
for who does not need more beauty,
hanging like stars in a midsummer sky,
